Course Description

The course is designed to meet the needs of managers in the private or public sector who wish to develop skills and advance their understanding of the theory and practice of business and management in preparation for a senior management position; students gain a thorough understanding of the world of finance in the global era; they explore the tools and techniques for managing operations and examine the debate on the role of information systems in globalisation and sustainable strategic advantage from intra-firm and extra-firm perspectives.

Core: Corporate and business finance; operations management; executive perspectives on information technology; strategic marketing management; international business; leading people and management organisations; corporate and comparative strategy; managing for the future; the business project: before students embark on the project, they receive comprehensive guidance through from 1st draft to the completed 12,000 word report; in addition, the programme also comprises compulsory workshops designed to enhance students' key management and interpersonal skills.

Additional Entry Requirements:
Good 1st degree or a recognised professional qualification together with at least 3 years' postgraduate work at managerial level; candidates who do not have a 1st degree but who can demonstrate several years' managerial experience at a senior level are considered; candidates whose 1st language is not English must demonstrate a high level of competence in English language.
