Course Description

This course gives students the understanding of the role of designers and engineers in a company and their interplay with other aspects of a company, such as marketing, sales and finance is critical for business success and a very important aspect of business management; this specialist stream provides students with a sound basis of the product design and development process by contextualising the product development process linking research; commercial and social drivers; concept development; design for manufacture; production; marketing and sales; in addition, the stream equips students with the knowledge, skills and expertise necessary to plan, implement and manage a successful rapid product development (RPD) process.
