Global Emba
Program and Course Information

A global EMBA is your opportunity to get an executive MBA program combined with a global perspective. While the content will follow a traditional executive MBA, focusing on providing elite managers with the skills to become executive leaders, the structure differs.

You’ll study in different locations around the globe, learning from local businesses and getting a global business perspective. A global EMBA is perfect for leading business professionals who want a business degree with a global perspective.

What will I study on a global EMBA program?

A global EMBA program aims to provide you with first-hand experience and solutions to global business problems. Most courses will focus on case studies and real life business situations, from which you will have to come up with solutions to existing business issues.

The global nature of the program means you will have to study and work in several different locations around the globe. A sample of some global EMBA programs shows courses requiring you to study in destinations as diverse as Australia, India, the US, France and South Africa.
You should expect your international MBA program to have content on the following:

  • Global business
  • Strategic management
  • Financial analysis
  • People management

Length and structure

Most global EMBA programs are based around periods of study abroad. You may visit four or five destinations over a period of two years, spending up to four weeks in each country as you examine an intensive business situation.

Each residential will be made up of lectures, group work and assignments. You will also have the opportunity to select electives from each business school involved in the course.

How can a global EMBA program help my career?

A global EMBA program is aimed at the world’s top executives, so networking and making new contacts is a huge part of each course.

Alongside the high level technical business skills you’ll gain, you’ll also get a unique insight into global business. This should allow you to develop new techniques for your own work, from improving global relations to developing new management infrastructure.

An EMBA is seen as the highest level of business qualification available, so it is unsurprising that graduates often see a rapid increase in their salary levels.

Entry requirements

Entry to a global EMBA program is tough, with most having very strict criteria. You will have to be an experienced business professional already operating at a high level, with previous business qualifications.

You may have to demonstrate the following:

  • A minimum of ten years work experience
  • Language proficiency
  • GMAT score
  • Personal recommendation
  • Successful interview
