Technology is now developing so fast that it is creating disruption across all sectors of the economy, according to experts.

csrBusinesses that fail to keep up with the latest developments face being wiped out by smarter rivals, experts at Entrepreneurial Spark will warn at a ground-breaking event next week.

The world’s largest free business accelerator for early stage and growing ventures is holding a day of Tech Talks from top digital and innovative business leaders, aimed at ensuring its fledgling firms embrace the latest technology and use it as an opportunity to displace larger rivals.

Entrepreneurial Spark has lined up a range of speakers who will address budding entrepreneurs and “chiclets” at its “hatcheries” across the UK, in an interactive event streamed over the internet live from its Glasgow headquarters.

Entrepreneurial Spark chief executive Jim Duffy will be joined by representatives of fast-growing global taxi app GetTaxi – one of Forbes’ 15 Most Explosive Businesses to Watch – media company Carat Manchester and Seric Systems, a start-up which has grown to become one of Scotland’s leading technology solutions and support providers.

Each will give their take on the ways in which technology has moved beyond just computers and IT and become a key concern and opportunity for every sector, from food & drink to lifestyle to products and everything in between.

Jim Duffy said: “The pace of technological development across all industries is having a tremendous disruptive effect on the market and allowing ambitious, nimble entrepreneurs who are on top of their game to tap into huge growth opportunities.

“It’s not just the traditional high-tech sectors such as IT or consumer technology that need to stay tuned in to the changes brought about by innovation – advances are being made that are relevant to every field.

“Firms must remain constantly inquisitive about how technology can be leveraged to reach business goals and success.”

The Tech Talks event will take place at the Entrepreneurial Spark Glasgow Hatchery on Tuesday 21st of April, from 12pm to 4pm. The entire event will also be live streamed in high digital quality – to register go to http://www.entrepreneurial-spark.com/event/tech-talks/
