University of East Anglia
A Tradition of Excellence

Founded in 1963, the University of East Anglia is one of the UK's premier teaching universities and is committed to international standards of excellence. With cutting-edge facilities and a beautiful campus location, we provide the ideal environment for further study.

We are proud of our high rankings in the National Student Survey, receiving joint third mainstream English university for overall student satisfaction in 2010 as well as being placed top five overall every year since the survey began, six years ago. We have also been voted top English university overall and the best in the UK for our accommodation and Student Union in the 2009 Whatuni Student Choice Awards.

Our activities are complemented by the group of internationally-renowned research institutes on the adjacent Norwich Research Park making Norwich home to the UK's fourth largest group of the world's most highly cited researchers. This has aided us in being placed among the top research universities in the UK in the last Research Assessment Exercise.

A safe and friendly campus

Set in 320 acres of beautiful parkland, our campus combines natural beauty with architectural flare. Almost every student need is catered for - with shops, banks, launderettes, a health centre, pharmacy and even a travel agent. We also have a world-class art gallery in the shape of the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts on campus. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and socialise

Our £30 million Sportspark is one of the finest and largest university sports complexes in the country, including a 50m Olympic pool, indoor arenas, athletics track, squash & tennis courts, a climbing wall, fitness centre and 40 acres of playing fields.

We have around 3,400 student rooms which typically include a fully furnished, self-catered room grouped round a shared kitchen with free connection to our computer network and internet. Many rooms on campus command wonderful views of our lake and parkland.

What our Students Say

Nicola Daniels
LLB Law
I chose to study at the University of East Anglia because it has a lovely campus and has a lot to offer. There are a good range of societies which I would recommend getting involved in as you get to meet a lot of different people and really get to enjoy it to the full. The Law School is a brilliant place to study as the law degree is excellently taught and the lecturers are always on hand to give guidance and support. Studying here gave me a fantastic start to my legal career.

Stephanie Allen
PGCE in Secondary Education

The University of East Anglia was my first choice, as I had heard of its high reputation for this particular course, and I was able to continue to play korfball. As an England representative for korfball, I required a university which would support me with my training programme. I have been provided with an athlete support programme and mentor to allow me to continue to train as well as providing me with a sports bursary. I would thoroughly recommend the University of East Anglia to any student who likes their sport, as there are the facilities to compete at all levels, whether internationally or just with a few mates.

Duncan White
BA Politics

Studying at the University has been an immensely beneficial and rewarding experience, which I would recommend to any prospective student. In my final year I was able to take up a Parliamentary Internship with Charles Clarke MP which gave me a fascinating insight into local politics and how aspects such as policymaking actually play out in real life. I also spent two weeks interning at News International, which presented an equally valuable perspective on the workings of a global corporate media organisation. During these internships I constantly drew on research and presentation skills which have been developed throughout my degree

Lydia Wanjiru Munyi
BA International Development

The University has far surpassed my expectations. The International Development course is very well established, given that the University is home to the Overseas Development Group. Besides great academic opportunities there are many social activities such as sport clubs and societies, available to suit everyone’s taste. I especially enjoy the diverse nature of the campus where students from all over the world with different interests meet. There is also a genuine, friendly atmosphere that is demonstrated by all staff members.
Despite being a campus university the proximity to the city allows you to enjoy the familiarity of the campus but also experience the excitement of Norwich.

An Ideal Location

Located on the outskirts of the medieval city of Norwich, and consistently voted one of the top cities for quality of life, bolster's our attraction to students. With all the facilities of a major city, Norwich is friendly, easy-going, and a safe place to live with a vibrant youthful outlook with nightclubs, cinemas, restaurants, theatres, over 300 pubs and bars alongside a variety of arts and entertainments venues.

Rated one of the top ten shopping destinations in the UK, the city features a unique blend of independent boutiques, high street chains, shopping malls and an open-air market, set amidst a maze of pretty cobbled streets.

The Norfolk coastline is on our doorstep and is home to wildlife sanctuaries, beautiful beaches, classical English countryside, bustling market towns, sleepy villages and grand stately homes. One of England's most beautiful national parks, The Broads, is also only 11 miles from the University.

Norwich is only a 15 minute bus ride from our campus and has good bus and rail links to the rest of the UK and an international airport connecting you to the rest of Europe and beyond.
